Competition Dance
Renee's Dance & Tumbling Dance Troupe is a competitive dance group that focuses on building technique, style, and execution of dances, choreography, showmanship, age appropriate material, and costumes.
Competition Categories:
The competitors will be divided into two different categories: junior students and senior students. Competitors are placed in classes according to ability and then by age. Additional divisions may be developed as participation increases.
Auditions:
Auditions will be held at a given time and place. Competitors will learn a routine or combination of steps. After a given length of time, students will be called by a number to perform the given routine/combination of steps. Students will perform their routine in front of a panel of judges not associated with the studio.
Classroom Attire:
All competitors will be expected to compete at ALL the competitions and the spring recital. Tentative competitions will be one in January, one in February, one in March, and one in April.
Classes:
Students will be placed in their regular dance class and then have a separate time when the competitive students meet for practice.
Competition Fees:
Each competition varies. These are paid to the promoter and not under my control.
Costuming:
A costume will be ordered for each competitor for each dance. Along with costumes, students must have the appropriate shoes at the times of lessons.
Tuition:
Tuition and fees are based on choreography, lesson plans, routines, and teaching time.
